"...An intense Garifuna music, dance & food preparation workshop; that is reviving, retrieving and reclaiming the Garifuna language and culture."

I am giving thanks for this wonderful opportunity to introduce the culinary traditions of the Garinagu culture to We Cookin'. I recognize that it is the Will of Our Creator and Ancestors, that I would be invited by one of We Cookin's supporters, Brother Andrew Providence; to meet the organizers of Habinahan Garinagu; Mama Trish St. Hill & Baba Jamal Lovell. In this Raspect, we express our heartfelt thanks to Bro. Andrew, Mama Trish, Baba Jamal, the volunteers and all the participating youths for making this a most memorable experience in sharing their knowledge of Garinagu culture.

We will be featuring our rendition of the day spent with them at Peters Hope Secondary School, on our New Season  of We Cookin': Eclectic Vincy Cuisine©2012; which, Our Creator Willing, premieres October 2012. Till then, full joy these images. For folks who are on the island of St. Vincent, do take the time to visit the camp. Just getting a hang of this blog thing. No matter, what's important is that we now have a site where i can keep you informed of our progress in filming the new season episode. On Wednesday, we were invited to film a tradition of Garifuna Cuisine, that has been passed on from generations of Kalinago descendants. We will have the opportunity to learn how to prepare several new dishes, as they were prepared hundreds  perhaps thousands of years ago, by the indigenous people of St. Vincent & the Grenadines. I hesitate to give more details as this event has not yet happened. I can say though I am very excited at the prospect of presenting this Eclectic style of Cuisine on our new Season of We Cookin. 

On another note, we return to Fairview guesthouse, this Friday August 17th.  We hope to have one of our favorite and youngest Culinary artist, Chef Darriel Ambrose of the French Verandah Restaurant; if we can pull her from an extremely busy and demanding schedule. If she cannot make it, I will prepare one of my favorite recipes to share with you. Remember, we will use only the freshest and finest of our local agricultural and marine produce of St. Vincent & the Grenadines in our favorite recipes. You are welcome to stop buy and sample. Giving thanks especially to Our Creator, our sponsors, and to the viewers and supporters of We Cookin' Eclectic Vincy Cuisine©. We are now in August,  moving rapidly towards our 2nd year anniversary of airing one of the most distinctively unique culinary programs in St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Keeping in mind the constructive critique of our audience, and the many requests for our eclectic recipes, we have embarked on a mission to creating and producing a program that will continue to incorporate, and promote the use of  our local agricultural and marine produce. Further, some of our goals include featuring the skills and talent of our youth in SVG, whether as guest culinary artist or  as food critics.  We value the ideas, opinions and thoughts of the youth, as they have demonstrated (in these past  almost two years of airing ) the most candid, critical, and valuable interest in We Cookin' .  This premise we have inferred by the number of parents, grandparents, and youth themselves, who express to us on a daily basis, their appreshelove for We Cookin'. In addition, we also have considered the pulse of the many farmers, fisherfolks, vendors and everyday people we have met throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines islands of Bequia, Mustique and Union, who express nothing but

 "Love "   and encouragement for the program. To all those supporters we extend our heartfelt thanks for the motivation to push on.

Each week on WE COOKIN, these culinary artists will demonstrate their skills and talents, using the fresh agricultural and marine produce of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. These weekly series, are 30 minutes long including ads; and will premiere its second year in October, 2012; on Island Koncept TV, SVG TV, and Carib Vision both during prime time and off peak hours.
